Palmetto Ridge Takes the Ft Myers Shootout Crown at Buzzer
FORT MYERS, FL- The Palmetto Ridge Bears have had an up and down summer, but during the 2009 Fort Myers Shootout they may have gained some confidence that could carry over to the 2009-10 season with a young junior-to-be led team. In the championship game Sunday afternoon they took down a very talented Fort Myers Green Wave squad 49-47 on a running floater by Frank Gonzalez with 1.7 seconds left. The Bears controlled the game throughout with their solid shooting and scrappy up and down style and held on in the end despite a gritty effort from Fort Myers senior Colin Henry and his teammates.
