Preview:
  • Sickles comes into this game primed and focused for a run at the Final Four.  They are led by senior point guard Jordan Davis, who is widely regarded as one of the top point guards in FL, and junior wing Rashawn Rembert.  Rembert is the Gryphons best scorer and Davis runs the show, dishing out passes with great court vision.  Rembert is coming off a 26 point performance in the District final where he scored 20 of those points in the first half alone.  Manatee though should not be looked over too quickly.  The Hurricanes have athletes all over the court, as well as shooters and solid basketball players.  Senior guard Brice Smith leads the way for Manatee, and has shown he is capable of scoring in multiple ways.  He can hit treys in bunches or attack the basket.  Junior guards Thomas Gish and Quenton Bundrage will need to be at their best in this one as well.  Gish is a very good shooter from outside and Bundrage is one of the most athletic players we've seen all year.  The Hurricanes will need to do a good job defensively of getting the ball out of Davis and Rembert's hands as much as possible but can help their cause by making every offensive possession they have highly valuable.  With athletes, a team always has a chance to stick around in games.  The question will be can the Hurricanes get over the hump to pull off a big upset and advance to the Regional Semifinals.

Prediction:
  • Sickles (+6)
