Preview:
  • This is a rematch of the 1A-8 District Championship game that saw Seffner Christian finally take down the Panthers after two previous failed attempts this season.  The Crusaders did a great job of being physical with the Panthers inside, while forcing BCS to beat them from the outside and they could not.  A big key this time around will be whether or not the Panthers can get hot from the deep if Seffner tries the same tactic.  If so, the result will likely go in Bradenton Christian's favor as it did in the teams' first two meetings in the regular season.  BCS basically wore down the Crusaders towards the end of the two wins, and will look to get back to that style when possible.  Seffner Christian relies heavily on their trio of senior forwards inside, Steven Cunningham, Devin Paularinne, and Colin Dehate.  Cunningham poured in 24 points in the district title win, while Paularinne and Dehate scored 18 and 10 respectively in the Regional Quarterfinal win against Vanguard.  Bradenton Christian is as balanced as it comes in SWFL and probably in the state with 5 guys averaging around 15 points or more, and eighth grader Austin Walker has averaged just over 10 points a game since being moved up just after Christmas break.

Prediction:
  • Bradenton Christian (+4)
