The newest edition to the SWFLHoops.com staff, Jacob Alley, recently caught up with Seacrest Country Day School's stud sophomore Brunes Charles while covering him and the rest of his Naples Finest team at the AAU state tournament in Clearwater.  Read about Brunes' experiences with travel ball, his goals, and much more in latest edition of "One on One."

Jacob: What is the biggest difference between AAU and regular HS basketball play?

Brunes: AAU is a lot more intense, there is a lot more running and all the games are played at a much faster pace and everyone is a lot better than in high school.

Jacob: Is it a hard transition going from your High School Coach, to Coach Crislip?

Brunes: Not at all, maybe if it was going the other way, but Crislip makes it fun and simple. These are easily the best coaches in town and they run my favorite style of play: Fast

Jacob: If you could go to college anywhere to play basketball where would it be?

Brunes: Davidson

Jacob: Has Basketball always come naturally to you?

Brunes: I was always naturally athletic, but I did not start playing basketball til 7th grade. But it never really was difficult for me until last year when I had to rehab from injury. It always felt like my leg was holding me down, but I feel that I am a better player now than before the injury.

Jacob: Who has been your biggest influence as a basketball player?

Brunes: Coach Humphrey, he is the person that introduced me to basketball and he has been there for me almost every step of the way.

Jacob: Who is your favorite player in the NBA right now?

Brunes: Kobe Bryant

Jacob: Would you prefer to stay close to home  or not for college?

Brunes: Damn man, wherever wants me is where ill go, it may even be good for the family to have me out of the house and away from home for a little bit, you know how family life is.

Jacob: What would you say you still have to work on in order to bring your game to the next level?

Brunes: I feel as though I need to work on my shooting, I know that I can shoot but sometimes I just feel as though I have to drive when shooting would definitely been a better move.

Jacob: What is your favorite part about your game and the game of basketball itself?

Brunes: I love to get dirty. I love hustle plays and living at or above the rim. If im not fighting for loose balls then I’m taking charges. I love taking it to the hoop and driving through traffic as well.

Jacob: Thanks Brunes, good luck with everything and we will hear from you again in the coming season I am sure.
