Notes: Good size at a young age added together with good athleticism and length makes for possibly limitless upside for Gaines if his work ethic matches his face valued potential.  A huge benefit will be the fact he will have Booker head coach Derrick Kirce to guide him.  Kirce has dealt with his share of high major division 1 big guards sending Eneil Polynice (06') to University of Mississippi where he started as a sophomore, and improving eventual Wake Forest signee Gary Clark for 3 years before Clark transferred to Monteverde Academy for his senior year.  Gaines is a solid shooter and slasher thus far, but is still very raw in terms of overall skill set which just means he oozes with potential.  To be a 6'3 freshman and already have established himself as definitely a guard and nothing else, the only question remains how good can he be.  In the end he will most likely stay off of the ball and will just need to continue to improve his skill set including shooting, ballhandling, and understanding how to use change of speeds when attacking the defense with the ball.
